In order to encourage the development of RITpedia content and assess the ongoing status of articles the project contains, the following assessment scale has been developed.

A-Class

In short: The article is substantially complete and only needs to be revised when the topic of the article itself undergoes a change.

Criteria

An article is rated Class A if all of the following are true:

  • All content in the article that is controversial (or may be controversial) is supported by a reliable source.
  • All criteria for Class C are met.

B-Class

In short: The article is mostly complete and without major issues.

Criteria

An article is rated Class B if all of the following are true:

  • All sections of the article contain considerable levels of information on the topics included.
  • There are no obvious omissions in content.
  • All criteria for Class C are met.

C-Class

In short: The article is substantial, but is still missing important content.

Criteria

An article is rated Class C if all of the following are true:

  • There are several sections of the article, which contain considerable levels of information on the topics included.
  • All criteria for Class D are met.

D-Class

In short: An article that is developing, but which is still quite incomplete in a variety of easily-recognizable ways.

Criteria

An article is rated Class D if all of the following are true:

  • There is more than one section of the article.
  • A table of contents is available to separate the different sections.
  • The article provides useful, if not necessarily complete information.

Stub Class

In short: A very basic description of the topic.

Criteria

An article is a stub if any of the following are true:

  • There is no table of contents for the article.
  • The article is one paragraph or less in length.
  • The article is not comprehensible, but is clearly not gibberish or vandalism.
