Carleton Gibson Hall is Building 49 in the South Area. It is situated toward the northern end of the residential side of campus, and is adjacent to Sol Heumann Hall.
The building was named after Carleton Gibson, the first President of the Rochester Athenaeum and Mechanics Institute, which would later become RIT.
Gibson is a low rise building with an elevator. Gibson is home to Honors housing. Gibson is not air conditioned.
