People notability

I moved the thread to Talk:People. Kari Marie Hazzard 15:57, 18 May 2010 (EDT)

I'd like to propose RITpedia:Notability as a guideline. If you have any thoughts, comment on its talk page. Kari Marie Hazzard 08:40, 20 May 2010 (EDT)

It's just my opinion, but I don't like the idea of including HTML in a section header. It seems like something that might confuse MediaWiki's parser. Kari Marie Hazzard 22:13, 14 September 2010 (EDT)

We need to recruit more regular editors for the site. Any ideas? Kari Marie Hazzard 15:46, 4 October 2010 (EDT)

I set up a twitter account over the summer for it, it's getting some small attention: Twitter. But that obviously is not going to draw traffic. I've briefly spoke with Mr. Schull and others about a bit of advertising. The question would be is how to advertise and what sort of slogans we want to throw out there. --Richard Edward Latham 15:52, 4 October 2010 (EDT)
I think our official motto is "Edit us." Kari Marie Hazzard 16:18, 4 October 2010 (EDT)
Nevertheless, we need a good slogan. Like "What is RITpedia?" or something of that like. Something catchy. --Richard Edward Latham 16:24, 4 October 2010 (EDT)
You may want to have some meetings on-campus with Fran and the other students that have permissions. Invite Dan Leveille and whoever else you can. They may have ideas. Kari Marie Hazzard 17:32, 4 October 2010 (EDT)
I was under the impression that Dan Leveille was in California, based on his Twitter posts. I'll set up a meeting. Remy has changed around the Storytellers meeting to an unaccommodating time for me. But I'll set something up. --Richard Edward Latham 17:47, 4 October 2010 (EDT)
I just checked, he's an alumnus. He's actually working for Deviantart now in Hollywood, California. --Richard Edward Latham 17:55, 4 October 2010 (EDT)
You could still invite him. If he wants to and is able to attend, you could let him call in on Skype or something. Could do that for me too, actually, depending on when it is. Kari Marie Hazzard 21:51, 4 October 2010 (EDT)

Alumni Notice

The login page does not indicate how alum should go about getting access to the wiki. What is the process? It should be added to the login page. --Justin Lewis 17:45, 15 November 2010 (EST)

Done, See my talk page for more information. --Justin Lewis 20:34, 16 November 2010 (EST)
Very good. I'm glad we got that settled! --Richard Edward Latham 20:37, 16 November 2010 (EST)

How to delete a page?

I want to know how to delete a page and a photo. I saw the deletion log-in section somewhere, but I can't figure it how to do it. May you refer me to the help link for more information? --Angelica Lopez 15:14, April 18, 2013

Deletion is a feature reserved for moderators. I am unaware of any other way. In Wikipedia, templates like Speedy delete exist so a discussion can be had before deletion of a page (except in cases where pages exist that only the one person has edited). RITpedia does not have such a formal structure. If you could simply submit to me which page(s)/image(s) you would like deleted, I would be happy to do this for you. In the mean time, I will try to develop a way to prevent this hiccup in the future. Thanks! --Richard Latham 21:44, 18 April 2013 (EDT)

I believe I saw the deletion logs in the 'uploading a photo' feature. Thank you, I look forward to seeing this new feature of yours in the future. Do you want me to post the list of pages here? Or rather I send you an e-mail? The list is pretty long because I found some pages are similar, some pages' title evolved to different names and etc. --Angelica Lopez 12:26, 25 April 2013 (EDT)

Could you please email it to me using my RIT account? Thanks! --Richard Latham 12:39, 25 April 2013 (EDT)

Ok. Will do. --Angelica Lopez 23:46, 25 April 2013 (EDT)
