Notability and organization

Note: Moved from User talk:KMH2039.

How should we organize the section People and who should be considered important enough for this. I wasn't sure if it would be best to list all the professors, but for certain people like Bob Finnerty and William Destler, I understand that an entry is needed for them. How should we categorize such people? --Richard Edward Latham 15:46, 18 May 2010 (EDT)

I'm not sure on the organization question; I'll have to think about it more. As for notability, I'd say that if you can find four or five news sources about the person they're sufficiently notable for an article. Pages that list the faculty (say of a department) don't count, but two mentions in Reporter, one in the Democrat & Chronicle, one in University News, etc. could establish notability.
