Center for Residence Life (abbreviation: CRL), also known as ResLife, is the department within the Division of Student Affairs focused on the development of communities within RIT housing. It serves the residents residing in residence halls, Greek houses, special interest houses, life style floors, RIT Inn, and apartments.

Areas

The Center for Residence Life is divided into areas, which consist of several buildings. Each area is equipped with its own administrative staff and offices.

Historically, The Center was split into four areas:

  • BCG90 - Baker, Colby, Gleason, Building 28, Building 30, Building 32,
  • EPD - Ellingson, Peterson, Res Hall D
  • NRFSHG - NRH, Fish, Sol Heumann Hall, Gibson
  • Apartments - all apartments (Colony, Perkings, Global Village, University Commons)

BCG90 was renamed BCGABC when the campus switched from building numbers to names

Starting over summer 2015, The Center was reorganized into three areas The organizational units within ResLife are called areas, and generally consist of several buildings:

  • North - Ellingson, Peterson, Res Hall D, Fish, Sol Heumann, Gibson
  • South - NRH, Baker, Colby, Gleason, RHA, RHB, RHC
  • Apartments - all apartments (Colony, Perkings, Global Village, University Commons)

Positions

The Center for Residence Life is a department within the Division of Student Affairs. The Center is led by a Director. Assistant Directors (ADs) report to the Director from each area. Each area is served by a Staff Assistant as well as several Resident Coordinators, generally one per building. Resident Coordinators oversee Resident Advisors (RAs) or Graduate Resident Advisors (GRAs).
