Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers [IEEE; RIT IEEE] is an academic (unaffiliated) organization associated with the Electrical Engineering Department at RIT. Despite its moniker, the RIT IEEE is open to all RIT Students majoring in a STEM field.

RIT IEEE has several traditional events for its members as well as RIT students in general throughout the year. DIP and SMD Soldering Workshops are one type of such events. Previously, an annual Student Design Competition was held and debuted at Imagine RIT. However, the last SDC was held in 2013. Other workshops are also held, featuring relevant fields such as the IoT and Embedded uP workshops.These workshops usually feature guest lecturers form prominent companies, such as Texas Instruments.
