RIT Kosovo

FOUNDED IN 2002, RIT Kosovo (previously named ‘RIT/A.U.K’) is a not-for-profit, higher education institution chartered in Kosovo and offering degrees from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT, founded 1829) in Rochester, NY, USA.

NOT FOR PROFIT: RIT Kosovo operates in the Republic of Kosovo as the Non-Governmental Organization (NG0) "A.U.K - The American College of Kosova" (previously named "American University in Kosova Foundation", “American University in Kosova Foundation – Prishtina”, “BPrAL American College in Kosova Foundation – Prishtina”) Registration No. 5200074-2, registered under Law No. 04/L-57, Section 9 On Freedom of Association in Non-Governmental Organizations, first registered May 08, 2002, in Prishtina, Kosovo. RIT/A.U.K is also supported by the U.S. Organization, “The American University in Kosovo Foundation Inc”, registered in the County of New York, State of New York, as a tax-exempt entity under section 501(c)(3), public charity status 170(b)(1)(A)(vi), Employer Identification Number (EIN) 20- 0105596, of the Internal Revenue Code.


COOPERATIVE EDUCATION provides two paid career-related work experiences for every RIT Kosovo graduate as requirements of completing the bachelor degree program. The RIT cooperative education model is one of the oldest and largest cooperative education programs in the world.

WORK & STUDY allows students to get more experience in different subjects that they study. Some of the work & study places at RIT Kosovo are: Media Center; were students who plan to major in Media can improve their skills in video production, photography, web design, web developing, creative design, editing and more. Academic Support Center is also a great opportunity for students who want to improve their critical thinking in writing essays or public speaking either study and learn math & statistics. Another work and study place is Admissions Office which offers a great chance for students who decide to major in Management or Economics to see the process of cooperation between staff of RIT and to develop their managing skills as well.

DEGREES: RIT Kosovo offers the following degrees: Bachelor of Science (BS) in Applied Arts and Science (4 year degree program) and an associate degree (AAS) in Multimedia and Web Design (2 year degree program). RIT Kosovo students enrolled in Kosovo receive their degree from RIT through the RIT School of Individualized Study.
