History

The first electrical engineering classes were offered in 1896. Electrical programs originated within the Department of Industrial Arts in 1912. The electrical department was established in 1940. The associate degree in electrical technology and the bachelor of science degree were established in 1945 and 1953, respectively. The master of science degree was established in 1970. The electrical engineering department of the College of Engineering was established in 1972.[1]
